Brisbane Studio

A workspace that reflects legacy and ambition

Philip Smith Conwell has a long history of architectural contribution in Brisbane, with origins dating back to the early 20th century. The Brisbane studio reflects this lineage while embracing a renewed focus on design excellence. A key element of the studio’s design is its relationship with the site’s history, drawing inspiration from the Queenslander that once stood there. A carefully placed stairway within the setback zone leads visitors to a threshold space—an outdoor experience before entering the studio—framed by expansive plate glass that blurs the boundary between inside and out.

Our approach to the production was as much about capturing the space as it was about engaging the people who use it. The day became a team-building exercise in itself, with the team actively taking ownership of their spaces and interacting naturally on screen. From collaborative moments to focused work, we encouraged a relaxed and open atmosphere, allowing the studio’s energy and culture to come through. The result is a film that highlights not just the architecture but the people who bring it to life.
