Pimpama Sports Hub
by Liquid Blu Architects and Place Design Group
A major community hub for a growing region
Pimpama Sports Hub is a key piece of community infrastructure, providing high-quality sporting and recreation facilities for one of the fastest-growing areas in South East Queensland. Designed by Liquid Blu, with landscape architecture by Place Design Group, the hub integrates aquatic, fitness, and sporting amenities with expansive parklands. The design balances large-scale facilities with open green space, creating a welcoming and accessible environment that supports both active lifestyles and social connection.
As one of eight films produced for Gold Coast Open House 2022, our approach to documenting Pimpama Sports Hub focused on its relationship with the broader landscape and urban design. Beyond capturing the built form, we explored how the hub functions as a social and recreational anchor for the region, shaping daily life for residents. By weaving together architectural details, community use, and the surrounding environment, the final film reflects how design contributes to the experience of place—enhancing both physical activity and community connection.
